The Wild Robot

A story about a wreckage of robots one of which survives unscathed and “comes alive” on an island with animals in need. A robot becomes a mom, a builder, a leader and a party host. AI is clearly not all bad! An awesome read for parents and children alike 🙂

SYNOPSIS

In a load of shipwrecked robots one unit miraculously survives and finds herself on an isolated island teeming with wildlife.

After learning all the animals’ tongues and accidentally adopting an orphaned gosling, Roz the robot begins to acclimate to her island life.

While her son and his fellow geese migrate away, Roz saves many animals from a bitter, snowy winter through resourcefulness and hard (robotic?) work.

A robot crew searching to return the shipwrecked robots to the factory finds Roz and, while attempting to capture her, damages her considerably.

The animals overpower the robot crew but Roz decides to go to the factory for repairs, and then return to her son and island friends.

Has Roz developed (non-robotic) feelings?
